Regular Season Round 11: Naestved - Bakken 87-82

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Naestved. Third ranked Naestved faced 4th placed Bakken. Host Naestved (7-5) defeated guests from Risskov (6-2) 87-82. Bakken was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Naestved made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Kazembe Abif (200-92, college: Drexel) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Troy Franklin (183-89, college: Coppin St.) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Abif is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American-Trinidad and Tobago forward Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St., agency: Slash Sports) produced 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Doug Wiggins (185-88, college: Mountain St.) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Naestved and four Bakken players scored in double figures. Bakken's coach Steffen Wich rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Naestved maintains third place with 7-5 record having six points less than leader Horsens IC. Defending champion Bakken keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Naestved are looking forward to face league's leader Horsens IC on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bakken will play against BMS Skovlunde and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
