Regular Season Round 12: Balkan - Cherno More 104-83

Very predictable result in Botevgrad where second ranked Balkan (8-2) smashed 8th ranked Cherno More (3-8) 104-83. Balkan shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by American forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who scored that evening 28 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Hristo Zahariev (197-90) supported him with 15 points and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by the former international forward Sim Iliev (204-89, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Cherno More. Point guard Tsvetoslav Ostrev (175-86) added 12 points and 7 assists. Five Balkan and four Cherno More players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Balkan maintains second position with 8-2 record behind leader Levski 2014. Cherno More lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Yambol. Balkan will play against Academik Plovdiv (#5) on the road in the next round. Cherno More will play against the league's leader Levski 2014 and hopes to get back on the winning track.
