Regular Season Round 11: Olimpija - Ilirija 81-86

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Ljubljana: Ilirija (#8) and Olimpija (#4). Olimpija was defeated at home 81-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 5 points. Ilirija outrebounded Olimpija 38-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was international point guard Zan-Mark Sisko (189-97, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Luka Voncina (193-91, college: Charlotte) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Ilirija players scored in double figures. International Gregor Hrovat (196-94) produced 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and American Devin Oliver (204-92, college: Dayton) added 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Ilirija (5-6) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hopsi Polzela. Defending champion Olimpija dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ilirija is looking forward to face higher ranked Helios (#5) in Domzale in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpija will play on the road against Hopsi Polzela and is hoping to win this game.
