Regular Season Round 13: Besiktas - Fenerbahce 71-76

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce (#2) and Besiktas (#4). Besiktas was defeated at home 71-76 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Fenerbahce outrebounded Besiktas 38-26 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) nailed 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Serbian Marko Guduric (196-95, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 15 points. Brazilian center Augusto Lima (207-91) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American-Armenian point guard Ryan Boatright (183-92, college: Connecticut) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for Besiktas in the defeat. Besiktas' coach Ufuk Sarica let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fenerbahce (11-2) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion (11-2) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Tofas. Besiktas at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Fenerbahce will play against Sakarya BSB (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Besiktas will play against Eskisehir Basket in Edirne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
