Regular Season Round 15: Dorsten - Hertener Loewen 74-88

Very expected game when 10th ranked Dorsten (3-13) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Hertener Loewen (12-4) 88-74 on Saturday. Hertener Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Dorsten's 34. It was a great evening for guard Faton Jetullahi (188-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) helped adding 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Lithuanian swingman Lukas Kazlauskas (188-92) with 26 points and American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-84) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Dorsten's coach Franjo Lukenda let to play eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hertener Loewen. They moved-up to third place in West. Dorsten lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Hertener Loewen will have a break next round. Dorsten will play on the road against the league's leader Grevenbroich (#1) and hope to win that game.
