Regular Season Round 15: Karlsruhe SC - Bayer Giants 85-94

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Bayer Giants (7-8) won against on the road 11th ranked Karlsruhe SC (2-13) 94-85 on Saturday. Bayer Giants dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Karlsruhe SC's 30 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was French swingman Ron Mvouika (196-91, college: St.John's) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Donovon Jack (206-93, college: Penn St.) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian swingman Luka Drezga (196-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) who recorded 20 points and 6 assists and guard Aaron Schmitz (193-93) added 14 points respectively. Five Bayer Giants and four Karlsruhe SC players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Bayer Giants moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with Dresden. Newly promoted Karlsruhe SC dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Bayer Giants will face league's second-placed Dragons Rhoendorf at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Karlsruhe SC will play against Wuerzburg (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
