Regular Season Round 15: Hagen-Haspe - Herford 87-77

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Hagen-Haspe (2-14) defeated at home higher ranked Herford (7-9) 87-77 on Saturday. They outrebounded Herford 43-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American point guard Jeremy Lewis (185-86, college: St.Thomas, TX) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points. Forward Oscar Luchterhandt (195-91) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. Worth to mention Lewis played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Hagen-Haspe players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Carlbe Ervin-II (190-95, college: Kansas St.) with 19 points and center Philipp Humke (206-90) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hagen-Haspe moved-up to twelfth place in West, which they share with Bonn II. Loser Herford keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Hagen-Haspe will face higher ranked Salzkotten (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
