Ebstorf can celebrate finally their first win this season after 13 consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Goetting.ASC (7-7) 84-76. They outrebounded Goetting.ASC 41-28 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Canadian guard Justin Dennis (185-87, college: CSU Bakersfield) who scored that evening 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and center Leo-Niclas Niebuhr (208-86) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Dennis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 26 points and 5 rebounds by swingman Nick Boakye (197-95) did not help to save the game for Goetting.ASC. Greg-Emeka Onwuegbuzie (190-93) added 13 points and 4 assists for lost side. Five Goetting.ASC players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Ebstorf maintains thirteenth position in North with 1-13 record. Goetting.ASC at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. Ebstorf's next round opponent will be higher ranked Weser Bsk/BTS (#12) in Neustadt and it may be quite challenging game.
