The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Wuerzburg's (4-12) road victory over 12th ranked Karlsruhe SC (2-14) 92-66 on Sunday. Wuerzburg shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for Bosnian Dejan Kovacevic (209-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots). American guard Miles Jackson-Cartwright (190-92, college: Pennsylvania) contributed with 24 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Wuerzburg players scored in double figures. Center Eyke Prahst (208-97) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds and American center Jeremy Black (203-85, college: Tampa, agency: Court Side) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Karlsruhe SC. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wuerzburg have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eleventh position in South with 4-12 record. Karlsruhe SC lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Wuerzburg will face higher ranked Coburg (#10) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Karlsruhe SC will play against Fraport Skyliners II in Frankfurt and hope to win that game.
