Regular Season Round 15: Ovarense - Vitoria SC 85-84

The most exciting game of round 15 in the LPB took place in Ovar. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Vitoria SC (10-7) to eighth ranked Ovarense (8-8) 85-84 on Friday evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Will Perry (180-94, college: Lenoir-Rhyne) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Canadian-British forward Jermel Kennedy (201-89, college: Lander) chipped in 15 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. Ovarense's coach Nuno Manarte used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American Roderick Nealy (198-80, college: Houston Baptist) who recorded 30 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the other American import LaceDarius Dunn (193-87, college: Baylor) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ovarense have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with CAB Madeira. Vitoria SC at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Ovarense is looking forward to face Lusitania (#10) in Angra in the next round. Vitoria SC will play at home against Electrico FC (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
