Regular Season Round 18: Iserlohn - Schwelm 87-59

Date: January 27, 2018
Everything went according to plan when third ranked Iserlohn (13-5) outleveled at home 5th ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (9-9) 87-59 on Saturday. They outrebounded SG Schwelmer Baskets 40-20 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Iserlohn players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Thomas Reuter (198-92, college: E.Washington) who recorded 14 points and Croatian power forward Sasha Cuic (208-83, college: Oregon St.) added 9 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Iserlohn have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Dragons. SG Schwelmer Baskets lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Iserlohn will face league's second-placed Dragons Rhoendorf on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play against Karlsruhe SC (#12) and hope to win that game.
