Not a big story in a game in Hamburg where 7th ranked Bergedorf (7-8) was rolled over by third ranked Aschersleben (11-5) 74-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Aschersleben. Bergedorf was better in third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aschersleben forced 22 Bergedorf turnovers. American guard Mason Biddle (185-93, college: Western St., agency: Global Sports Management LLC) had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 assists and 7 steals to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Sebastian Harke (204-81) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Aschersleben players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Marvin Steinberg (200-87) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and center Markus Timm (204-88) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Bergedorf's coach Bjoern Fock gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Aschersleben maintains third position in North with 11-5 record having eight points less than leader Grevenbroich. Newly promoted Bergedorf dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. Aschersleben will face Ebstorf (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bergedorf will play against Vechta-2 (#5) and hope to win that game.
