Eleventh-ranked SV Halle Lions (3-13) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (9-6) on Saturday. The visitors from Noerdlingen managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 20-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. TH Wohnbau Angels outrebounded SV Halle Lions 49-26 including a 39-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) who scored that evening 23 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian guard Aleksandra Racic (181-90) supported her with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by American guard Brittany Hrynko (173-93, college: De Paul, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for SV Halle Lions. The former international guard Kimberly Pohlmann (180-92) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. TH Wohnbau Angels moved-up to fifth place. SV Halle Lions lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. TH Wohnbau Angels will meet at home bottom-ranked Goettingen (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SV Halle Lions will play against Hannover and hope to secure a win.
