Regular Season Round 32: Taurages - Silute 79-69

The most important game in the last round took place in Taurage between third ranked Silute (21-11) and tenth ranked Taurages (14-18) on Saturday night. Silute was defeated by Taurages on the road 69-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Silute. Taurages dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Silute's 26. They outrebounded Silute 37-21 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Taurages looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Paulius Morkeliunas (202-85, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. Forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Caleb Oetjen (183-94, college: Bethel, IN) replied with 13 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import forward Jeff Perkins (198-93, college: Hawaii-Hilo) added 13 points in the effort for Silute. Four Taurages and five Silute players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Taurages moved-up to ninth place. Silute at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost. They share it with Neptunas-Akv.. Taurages are looking forward to face Ereliai Mazeikiai (#11) on the road in the next round. Silute will play against Neptunas-Akv. (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
