Regionalliga top team - BV Villingen-Schwenningen (17-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked BG Karlsruhe (2-15) 83-64. BV Villingen-Schwenningen dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BG Karlsruhe's 30. They outrebounded BG Karlsruhe 36-22 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Italian-Slovenian center Davor Barovic (211-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Rasheed Moore (196, college: E.Stroudsburg) helped adding 16 points. Four BV Villingen-Schwenningen players scored in double figures. BV Villingen-Schwenningen's coach Alen Velcic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Croatian guard Matej Jelovcic (185-98) responded with 17 points and naturalized American guard Kenny Fluellen (191-90, college: Paine, agency: Global Sports Management LLC) scored 14 points. The victory was the sixteenth consecutive win for BV Villingen-Schwenningen. They maintain first place in South-West with 17-1 record. Loser BG Karlsruhe keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will face Crailsheim II (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG Karlsruhe will play against Kaiserslautern and hope to win that game.
