Regular Season Round 19: P.Zvaigzdes - Neptunas 87-83

The game between third ranked Neptunas (16-5) and sixth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (8-14) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Neptunas was defeated by P.Zvaigzdes in a tough game in Pasvalys 83-87. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Neptunas won fourth quarter 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for P.Zvaigzdes especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (203-92) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. The former international Renaldas Seibutis (196-85) answered with 22 points and 5 rebounds and forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Neptunas. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. P.Zvaigzdes maintains sixth place with 8-14 record. Neptunas at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. P.Zvaigzdes are looking forward to face higher ranked Juventus (#5) in Utena in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neptunas will play on the road against Dzukija in Alytus and is hoping to win this game.
