Regular Season Round 19: Recklinghausen - Herford 114-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Herford's (8-11) road loss to seventh ranked Recklinghausen (10-9) 80-114 on Saturday. Recklinghausen outrebounded Herford 40-27 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Recklinghausen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Herford's players. Herford was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Jarred Jones (201-93, college: Loyola, MD, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Kosovan guard Fahri Breca (190-85, agency: Court Side) helped adding 14 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side American guard Carlbe Ervin-II (190-95, college: Kansas St.) responded with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian-British forward Kris Douse (198-86, college: Point Park) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Five Recklinghausen and four Herford players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Recklinghausen maintains seventh place in West with 10-9 record. Loser Herford keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
