There was a small surprise in Goettingen where tenth ranked WSG Koenigs (5-11) defeated 7th ranked Goetting.ASC (8-9) 67-57 on Saturday. WSG Koenigs dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Goetting.ASC's 16. WSG Koenigs forced 21 Goetting.ASC turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Christoph Tetzner (201-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 10 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Paul Giese (183-97) helped adding 16 points. WSG Koenigs' coach Lars Bothe used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side swingman Nick Boakye (197-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and forward Julian Schmidt (196-83) scored 21 points. WSG Koenigs maintains tenth place in North with 5-11 record, which they share with ALBA Berlin II. Newly promoted Goetting.ASC keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
