Regular Season Round 19: Juventus - Dzukija 75-79

Another exciting game for Dzukija (7-14) which played in Utena against 5th ranked Juventus (9-13). Eighth ranked Dzukija won 79-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Juventus. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-22. But Juventus won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Dzukija especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a great evening for forward Paulius Petrilevicius (200-91, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Cypriot-Greek forward Nikolaos Stylianou (198-88, college: W.Texas A&M) helped adding 21 points. At the losing side center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Juventus' coach Gediminas Petrauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dzukija moved-up to seventh place. Juventus at the other side keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. Dzukija will play against higher ranked Neptunas (#3) in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Juventus will play on the road against P.Zvaigzdes in Pasvalys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
