Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Taurages (15-19) defeated at home bottom-ranked Palanga (6-28) 89-74 on Saturday. Taurages forced 19 Palanga turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Paulius Morkeliunas (202-85, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Octagon Europe) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (185-88) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. Taurages' coach Edvardas Zemgulis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Laimonas Remeikis (200-97) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Augustinas Venckus (190-97) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Taurages maintains tenth position with 15-19 record. Palanga lost twenty first consecutive game. They stay dead last with 28 lost games.
