Regular Season Round 34: Jonava - Vytis 75-102

NKL top team - Vytis (31-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Jonava (18-16) 102-75. Vytis dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Jonava's 32 and made 29-of-34 free shots (85.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Jonava 43-29 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Jonava helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) chipped in 16 points, 8 assists and 4 steals (made all of his eight free throws) during the contest. Vytis' coach Aurimas Jasilionis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Lukas Grabauskas (192-95) responded with 23 points and point guard Justas Vazalis (197-96) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Vytis and four Jonava players scored in double figures. Vytis have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 31-3 record. Jonava at the other side keeps the fifth place with 16 games lost. Vytis are looking forward to face Taurages (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jonava will play against Silute (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
