Superleague top team - Dnipro (20-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Politekhnik (6-16) in Dnepropetrovsk 108-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Politekhnik. The game without a history. Dnipro led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Dnipro outrebounded Politekhnik 50-33 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Politekhnik's players. Volodymyr Shevchenko (196-94) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) to lead the effort and the former international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (204-89, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Five Dnipro players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 4 assists by American guard Bo Barnes (193-90, college: Arizona St., agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for Politekhnik. Guard Oleg Rudakov (190-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dnipro have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-2 record. Politekhnik at the other side keeps the seventh place with 16 games lost. Dnipro will meet Bipa Basket (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Politekhnik will play against Khimik in Yuzhny and hope to secure a win.
