Regular Season Round 18: Horsholm - Randers 98-87
Date: February 14, 2018
Rather predictable result when third ranked Horsholm (11-8) won against at home 5th ranked Randers (8-10) 98-87 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 98-87. Horsholm dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Randers' 40. They outrebounded Randers 49-34 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Randers were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Matt Bonds (196, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import forward Connor Beranek (198-94, college: Nebraska-Kearney, agency: Duran International) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Belizean forward Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Richard Thomas (196-87, college: Angelo St.) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Randers. Four Horsholm and five Randers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Horsholm went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Randers keep the fifth place with ten games lost. Horsholm will face league's second-placed Bakken in Risskov in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Randers will play at home against the league's leader Horsens IC and hope to win that game.
