Regular Season Round 21: Hertener Loewen - Duesseldorf 92-91

Important game to mention about took place in Herten. Third ranked Hertener Loewen (14-6) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 4th placed Duesseldorf (12-8) 92-91 on Saturday evening. Hertener Loewen made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Hertener Loewen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Guard Faton Jetullahi (188-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners and British guard Jordan Whelan (193-94, college: MidAmerica Naz.) chipped in 22 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). The best for the losing side was Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Mindaugas Reminas (187-86) scored 28 points. Five Hertener Loewen and four Duesseldorf players scored in double figures. Hertener Loewen maintains third place in West with 14-6 record having four points less than leader Muenster. Duesseldorf lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Hertener Loewen will play against Hagen BG (#4) on the road in the next round. Duesseldorf will play against the league's second-placed Grevenbroich and hopes to get back on the winning track.
