Regular Season Round 22: Zolotoi Vek - SumDU 120-88

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Zolotoi Vek as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Zolotoi Vek smashed 4th ranked SumDU in Kirovograd 120-88. The game without a history. Zolotoi Vek led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.5 percent from the field. Zolotoi Vek outrebounded SumDU 37-15 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 52.6 percentage. Zolotoi Vek looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by SumDU's players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Oleksiy Masalskiy (186-96) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 assists. Center Maksym Kozlovets (204-90) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Zolotoi Vek's coach Georgi Stupenchuk felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Igor Starodub (187-97) replied with 23 points and 4 steals and Vitaliy Ignatchenko (188-91) added 23 points in the effort for SumDU. Five Zolotoi Vek and four SumDU players scored in double figures. Zolotoi Vek have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. SumDU lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. SumDU will play next round against Mariupol trying to get back on the winning streak. Zolotoi Vek will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Kremen-2 in Kremenchuk.
