Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Braunschweig (11-12) won against at home 14th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (7-16) 71-63 on Sunday. They outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 41-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for power forward Scott Eatherton (203-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Guard DeAndre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 19 points and 7 rebounds. Braunschweig's coach Frank Menz used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Andrew Warren (196-87, college: Bradley) responded with 18 points and forward Kruize Pinkins (203-93, college: USF) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Braunschweig maintains twelfth place with 11-12 record. Newly promoted Mitteldeutscher BC keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Braunschweig will meet higher ranked BBC Bayreuth (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against the league's leader Bayern Muenchen (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
