A very close game took place in Taurage between Taurages and Perlas. Tenth ranked Taurages (17-20) got a very close home victory over 7th ranked Perlas (17-19). Taurages managed to escape with a 3-point win 73-70 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Perlas. Taurages had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Paulius Morkeliunas (202-85, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side forward Arnas Berucka (195-97, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 15 points and guard Domantas Vilys (189-0) scored 13 points. Perlas' coach Arvydas Gronskis tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Taurages moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Telsiai. Loser Perlas dropped to the eighth position with 19 games lost. Taurages will meet KTU (#12) in the next round. Perlas will play against Ezerunas (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
