The game in Kharkiv was also quite interesting. Second ranked Budivelnyk (17-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Politekhnik (6-19). Budivelnyk managed to secure a 5-point victory 70-65 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-11. But Politekhnik won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and international swingman Pavlo Krutous (196-92, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. American guard Bo Barnes (193-90, college: Arizona St., agency: Haylett Sports) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian center Nikola Vujovic (210-93, college: Georgian Court) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Politekhnik in the defeat. Defending champion maintains second place with 17-8 record having five points less than leader Dnipro, which they share with Cherkasy. Politekhnik lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 19 games lost. Budivelnyk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Politekhnik will play against Cherkasy (#3) and hope to secure a win.
