The game in Kharkiv supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Cherkasy (18-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Politekhnik (6-20). Cherkasy smashed Politekhnik 96-75. The game was mostly controlled by Cherkasy. Politekhnik was better in fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cherkasy dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Politekhnik's 44. Cherkasy forced 19 Politekhnik turnovers. American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: Cent.Florida) notched 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and international Oleksandr Kobets (197-96) supported him with 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Even 21 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Bo Barnes (193-90, college: Arizona St., agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for Politekhnik. Power forward Anton Rochnyak (205-91) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cherkasy have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Politekhnik lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 20 games lost. Cherkasy will play against Bipa Basket (#5) in Odessa in the next round. Politekhnik will play at home against Zaporizhye and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
