Regular Season Round 24: Hertener Loewen - Herford 120-113

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Hertener Loewen (15-8) defeated at home 8th ranked Herford (9-14) 120-113 on Saturday. They outrebounded Herford 50-39 including 16 on the offensive glass. Hertener Loewen looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Felix Neumann (201-90) chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Carlbe Ervin II (190-95, college: Kansas St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Canadian-British forward Kris Douse (198-86, college: Point Park) added 26 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively. Five Hertener Loewen and four Herford players scored in double figures. Hertener Loewen maintains third position in West with 15-8 record having six points less than leader Muenster. Herford lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. Hertener Loewen will face Salzkotten (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Herford will play against the league's second-placed Grevenbroich and hope to win that game.
