Regular Season Round 24: Duesseldorf - Salzkotten 84-69

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Duesseldorf (14-9) beat at home 9th ranked Salzkotten (8-15) 84-69 on Saturday. Duesseldorf looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-91, college: NW Missouri St.) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Duesseldorf's coach Jonas Joenke allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Eike-Simon Kerfs (202-95) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and center Thomas Stukenberg (206-92) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Duesseldorf moved-up to fifth place in West, which they share with Recklinghausen and Ibbenbueren. Salzkotten lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. Duesseldorf will face Bonn II (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Salzkotten will play against Hertener Loewen (#3) and hope to win that game.
