There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Brose Baskets (12-10) rolled over on the road 8th ranked ratiopharm Ulm (12-11) 90-67 on Sunday. Brose Baskets made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American Augustine Rubit (201-89, college: S.Alabama) who scored that evening 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Greek point guard Nikolaos Zisis (197-83, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 11 points and 6 assists. Five Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. Even 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by American forward Jerrelle Benimon (203-91, college: Towson) did not help to save the game for ratiopharm Ulm. Tongan-New Zealand forward Isaac Fotu (203-93, college: Hawaii) added 15 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to ninth place. ratiopharm Ulm lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Brose Baskets will meet at home higher ranked s Oliver Baskets (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ratiopharm Ulm will play against Walter Tigers and hope to secure a win.
