LKL round 22 most important game was a victory of Dzukija over higher ranked Lietkabelis 98-73 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lietkabelis. The game without a history. Dzukija led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lietkabelis' 32 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lietkabelis 38-22 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dzukija looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Russian center Anatoly Kashirov (215-87) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Dzukija players scored in double figures. The former international center Ksistof Lavrinovic (209-79) replied with 11 points and Croatian guard Dominik Mavra (195-94) added 8 points and 5 assists in the effort for Lietkabelis. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dzukija maintains eighth position with 8-17 record. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Dzukija are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Vytautas (#10) in Prienai in the next round. Lietkabelis will play at home against Juventus (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
