Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Tuebingen II (12-11) lost at home to fifth ranked TV Langen (14-9) 93-86 on Saturday. TV Langen dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Tuebingen II's 46. They outrebounded Tuebingen II 37-25 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American forward Nick Smith (203-95, college: Belmont) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Point guard Maxim Schneider (184-92) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five TV Langen players scored in double figures. Serbian Nemanja Nadjfeji (193) answered with 15 points and 6 assists and Latvian Aksels Skaistlauks (195-97) added 18 points in the effort for Tuebingen II. Tuebingen II's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. TV Langen moved-up to fourth place in South-West, which they share with Saarlouis/Dillingen. Loser Tuebingen II keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. TV Langen will face league's leader BV Villingen-Schwenningen on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tuebingen II will play against Saarlouis/Dillingen (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
