Quarter-Finals Round 1: Bakken - Wolfpack/BMS 103-68
Date: March 18, 2018
Bakken cruised past Wolfpack/BMS in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. BMS Skovlunde managed to win fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bakken forced 20 BMS Skovlunde turnovers and had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by BMS Skovlunde's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bakken made 8 blocks. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St.) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American-Trinidad and Tobago forward Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St., agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 21 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Five Bakken players scored in double figures. Bakken's coach Steffen Wich felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Durell Vinson (202-85, college: Wagner) responded with 32 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Mike Martin (183-93, college: Cent.Arkansas) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds.
