Regular Season Round 27: Cherkasy - Bipa Basket 88-72

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Bipa Basket (11-17) was defeated on the road by second ranked Cherkasy (19-8) 88-72 on Friday. Strangely Bipa Basket outrebounded Cherkasy 42-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Oleksandr Kolchenko (195-88) who scored 27 points and 4 assists. International Oleksandr Kobets (197-96) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian center Lauris Blaus (208-90) who recorded 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and American swingman Josh Nofflet (194-88, college: Lee, agency: Athleadz) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Bipa Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cherkasy have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-8 record having five points less than leader Dnipro. Bipa Basket lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 17 games lost. Cherkasy will face Khimik (#4) in Yuzhny in the next round.
