Regular Season Round 24: P.Zvaigzdes - Dzukija 73-72

The most exciting game of round 24 in the LKL took place in Pasvalys. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Dzukija (9-18) to sixth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (11-16) 73-72 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dzukija. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dzukija won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin) who scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Canadian guard Jahenns Manigat (186-91, college: Creighton, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Four P.Zvaigzdes players scored in double figures. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Rimantas Grigas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) who recorded 7 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. P.Zvaigzdes moved-up to fifth place. Dzukija at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 18 games lost. They share it with Juventus. P.Zvaigzdes are looking forward to face Nevezis (#9) in Kedainiai in the next round. Dzukija will play at home against the league's second-placed Lietuvos rytas and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
