Fifth-ranked Vienna (14-13) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Gmunden Swans (19-7) on Thursday. The visitors from Gmunden managed to secure only two-point victory 100-98. However their fans expected easier game. Gmunden Swans shot 61.7 percent from the field and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) contributed with 21 points and 5 assists for the winners. Gmunden Swans' coach Bernd Wimmer used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) replied with 32 points and 9 assists and the former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma, agency: 3Eye) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vienna. Four Gmunden Swans and five Vienna players scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 19-7 record having four points less than leader Kapfenberg. Vienna at the other side keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost. Gmunden Swans are looking forward to face Gunners Oberwart (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Vienna will play against the league's leader Kapfenberg Bulls and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
