Quarter-Finals Round 2: Politekhnik - Cherkasy 80-104

Cherkasy fired past Politekhnik to advance into the next round. The game was mostly controlled by Cherkasy. Politekhnik was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cherkasy dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Politekhnik's 38. They outrebounded Politekhnik 51-34 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cherkasy players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. International Oleksandr Kobets (197-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: Cent.Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Cherkasy's coach Maksym Mikhelson felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian center Nikola Vujovic (210-93, college: Georgian Court) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and guard Roman Kozlov (190-90) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Politekhnik. Five Cherkasy and four Politekhnik players scored in double figures.
