Regular Season Round 27: Langen - Eisbaeren 65-74

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked BG Karlsruhe (6-17) won against on the road higher ranked TV Langen (14-11) 74-65 on Saturday. They outrebounded TV Langen 35-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Josh Mayberry (190-95, college: Dominican, IL) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Kenny Fluellen (191-90, college: Paine, agency: Global Sports Management LLC) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Mayberry attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Nick Smith (203-95, college: Belmont) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and forward Ruben Spoden (202-89) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. BG Karlsruhe maintains fourteenth place in South-West with 6-17 record. Loser TV Langen dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. BG Karlsruhe will face league's second-placed Speyer on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TV Langen will play against Saarlouis/Dillingen where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
