There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Fellbach (12-13) beat at home 4th placed Saarlouis/Dillingen (15-10) 84-80 on Sunday. They outrebounded Saarlouis/Dillingen 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Scooter Gillette (206-90, college: Fair Dickinson) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Polish point guard David Michalczyk (180-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was Swedish forward Alan Bedirhanoglu (190-96) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Bosnian center Muharem Mujkanovic (204-88) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fellbach moved-up to seventh place in South-West, which they share with Tuebingen II. Loser Saarlouis/Dillingen keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Fellbach will face Limburg (#15) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saarlouis/Dillingen will play against TV Langen (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
