Regular Season Round 27: Stade - Westerstede 91-84

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Westerstede (10-13) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Stade (14-9) 91-84 on Sunday. Stade dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Westerstede's 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Westerstede's players. The best player for the winners was Spanish power forward Oscar Andres (200-87) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Yettra Specks (178-95, college: Jackson St.) chipped in 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Nigel Pruitt (201-94, college: Kennesaw St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and Marcello Schroeder (195-87) added 20 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Stade. They maintain fifth place in North with 14-9 record. Loser Westerstede dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. Stade will face ALBA-2 (#11) in Berlin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Westerstede will play on the road against the league's second-placed Neustadt TSV and hope to win that game.
