There was a minor upset when 10th ranked ratiopharm Ulm (14-15) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Braunschweig (13-16) 80-73 on Sunday. Braunschweig looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. ratiopharm Ulm was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Scott Eatherton (203-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Guard DeAndre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Guard Katin Reinhardt (198-93, college: Marquette) produced 20 points and forward Jerrelle Benimon (203-91, college: Towson) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Braunschweig maintains twelfth place with 13-16 record. ratiopharm Ulm lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 15 games lost. Braunschweig will face higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
