Regular Season Round 30: Neptunas - Lietuvos rytas 72-90

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Klaipeda. Second ranked Lietuvos rytas faced one of their biggest challengers Neptunas. Guests from Vilnius (27-6) defeated host Neptunas (23-10) 90-72. Lietuvos rytas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. International Rokas Giedraitis (200-92) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82) added 8 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietuvos rytas maintains second position with 27-6 record having just two point less than leader Zalgiris. Neptunas at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. Lietuvos rytas are looking forward to face Lietkabelis (#4) in Panevezys in the next round. Neptunas will play on the road against Nevezis in Kedainiai and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
