Rilski held off Beroe for the opening win in the series. The game without a history. Rilski led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Rilski outrebounded Beroe 42-21 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Beroe helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import point guard Derek Wright (180-86, college: Austin Peay St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. American center Darrius Garrett (206-90, college: Richmond) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Stanislav Tsonkov (192-91) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
