There was no surprise in Klaipeda where 9th ranked Dzukija (10-26) was defeated by third ranked Neptunas (25-11) 90-86 on Thursday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 24-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Neptunas made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. International forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Mindaugas Susinskas (204-95) with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and point guard Paulius Danisevicius (178-95) scored 13 points and 9 assists. Five Dzukija players scored in double figures. Neptunas maintains third place with 25-11 record having five points less than leader Lietuvos rytas. Loser Dzukija keeps the ninth position with 26 games lost.
