Regular Season Round 8: Atletas - Palanga 76-77

Everything could happen in Kaunas at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Palanga and 10th ranked LSU-Atletas had identical 2-5 record. But LSU-Atletas was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Palanga 77-76 on Saturday night. Palanga forced 20 LSU-Atletas turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Reggie Clark (178-1998, college: RWC) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and Ukrainian forward Danilo Sokolenko (203-1999) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Palanga's coach Povilas Sakinis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard Karolis Babkauskas (185-1991, agency: BIG) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Paulius Danisevicius (178-1995, agency: BIG) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Five Palanga and four LSU-Atletas players scored in double figures. Palanga (3-5) moved-up to ninth place. LSU-Atletas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with Rytas 2. Palanga will meet at home higher ranked Vilkaviskis (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. LSU-Atletas will play against Stekas (#8) and hope to secure a win.
