Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Hertener Loewen (4-4) lost at home to second ranked Recklinghausen (6-2) 88-74 on Saturday. Recklinghausen outrebounded Hertener Loewen 50-39 including 36 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Obi Okafor (198, college: Drury, agency: GoEmpire Group) who scored that evening 21 points and 8 rebounds and Slovenian power forward Tine Kotnik (205-2000) supported him with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Recklinghausen's coach let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Kosovan guard Faton Jetullahi (188-1994) did not help to save the game for Hertener Loewen. Dutch guard Casey Lopes (190-1997) added 11 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Recklinghausen maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Veitshoechheim, which they share with Stuttgart and Mannheim.
