Regular Season Round 4: Akmenes P. - Kedainiu 36-77

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Kedainiu (2-1) rolled over on the road bottom-ranked Akmenes P. (0-3) 77-36 on Sunday. Kedainiu held Akmenes P. to an opponent 20.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Kedainiu forced 24 Akmenes P. turnovers and outrebounded them 51-38 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Loreta Sulimaite (172-1998) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and center Brigita Turskyte (182-1999) supported her with 8 points and 15 rebounds. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by point guard Liveta Novogreckyte (170-2004) did not help to save the game for Akmenes P.. Swingman Ruta Silinyte (172-1993) added 10 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kedainiu moved-up to fifth place. Loser Akmenes P. still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Patriotes. Kedainiu will meet league's leader Panevezio in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Akmenes P. will play against Patriotes (#12) in Kaunas and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
