Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked WSG Koenigs (1-9) lost on the road to sixth ranked SG Braunschweig (6-3) 85-71 on Saturday. SG Braunschweig dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to WSG Koenigs' 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by WSG Koenigs' players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Jamil Hyangho (184-2003) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Naturalized Turkish center Mertcan Gerhardt (202-2002) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five SG Braunschweig players scored in double figures. American Andrew Jones (191-1983, college: Miles) came up with 23 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Dennis Teucher (200-1996) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for WSG Koenigs in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SG Braunschweig maintains sixth place with 6-3 record. WSG Koenigs lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Bergedorf. SG Braunschweig will meet league's leader Neustadt TSV on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. WSG Koenigs will play against Goetting.ASC (#3) and hope to win that game.
